Bhavans, Kuwait Warmly Welcomes Its New Batch of Grade 11 Students

The Chairman, Mr. N. K. Ramachandran Menon, reminded the students of the importance of reflecting on daily learning and planning to become successful in life.

As an official welcome for the new batch of grade 11 students for the academic session 2022-2023, Indian Education School, Kuwait organised ‘Abhivadanam’ on 29 May 2022 at 9.00 am in the school auditorium, to make their first day a memorable one.

The programme commenced with the recitation of the Holy Quran by Mr. Jabir Hassan, Faculty of Islamic Studies followed by a prayer song by Mr. Sunil Kumar Menon, Head of the Department of Sanskrit, invoking the choicest blessings of the Almighty. Mr Samuel Hanimod, the Subject Coordinator of the Department of Commerce, welcomed the august gathering comprising the Chairman of Bhavans Middle East, Mr. N.K. Ramachandran Menon, the Vice-Principal, Ms. Meenakshi Nayyar, the Headmistress, Ms. Muneera Mammikutty, teachers, and students of grade 11.

The Chairman, BME, Mr. N. K. Ramachandran Menon, in his address, reminded the students of the importance of reflecting on daily learning and planning to become successful in life. He advised the students that they should learn by challenging their teachers with their probing questions. He also added that they should always begin their day seeking the blessings of their parents. Ms. Meenakshi Nayyar, the Vice-Principal, expressed her best wishes to the students and incited the students to focus on their goals and the journey towards them to achieve that massive success in life. Ms. Muneera Mammikutty, the Headmistress, while wishing good luck to the students, reminded them to grab all the opportunities that knock on their doors. Deepika Mandova, a student from grade 11,shared her aspirations and expectations with the spectators and sprinkled a few words of motivation on her peer groups. The cultural programme got off the ground with a dazzling dance performance by the dance teachers of IES, Ms. Aiswarya Usha Kumari, and Ms. Sruthy Binu, after which the audience got hooked on the graceful rendition of a song by Mr. Vivek Chandran, faculty of Mathematics. The events on the stage culminated with the inspiring speech by the School Counsellor, Ms Preethi K Nair. She urged the students to know themselves and their surroundings to be well equipped for the future.

The vote of thanks was proposed by Ms. Sridevi Abirami Sivakumar, the Coordinator of grade 11. The emcee of the day was Ms. Hima Nirmal, Subject Coordinator, Department of English. The day was wrapped up with the singing of the Indian National Anthem.
