Abandoned in 1972, this haunted US hotel has reports of actual ghost encounters
No one knows what lies beyond that boundary after death. Nobody has been on the other side. But is that completely true? There are numerous places across the world where people have reportedly experienced paranormal activities. Eerie noises, foul smells and feeling someone’s presence – all these things are common when someone describes their ghost stories.
What if we tell you that there is an actual haunted hotel in Texas, US, where people have complained of getting poked and even scratched! The Baker Hotel was built in 1926 for a cost of USD1.2 million, opening in 1929. The 14 floor hotel consisted of 450 rooms, a lavish pool and spa.
According to rumours, a woman suffering from mental illness consumed the mineral-rich water available in the area and became fit and fine. And the hotel became a hit in its time.
However, during the stock market crash of 1932, the hotel couldn’t manage to stay afloat. Owners changed, but World War started which ultimately led to the closing of the property.
According to mirror.co.uk, the hotel is said to be occupied by the spirits of people who were sick and came to the hotel in hopes the mineral water would help them, but ended up dying any way. People have reported being poked, scratched and bitten and ghostly smells associated with the spirits linger where they are often encountered.
