Mahagathbandhan set for poll battle

Mahagathbandhan set for poll battle

In 2019 Lok Sabha election, the ‘Mahagathbandhan’ had allocated 3 seats to VIP which it lost.

The BJP-led National Democratic Alliance (NDA) is facing an internal rift ahead of the Bihar Assembly election due to ally Lok Janshakti Party’s seat demands but the opposition Grand Alliance (Mahagathbandhan) on the other hand looks set for the poll battle.

Vikashil Insan Party (VIP) president Mukesh Sahni said on Tuesday that all alliance partners of ‘Mahagathbandhan’ are complementing each other. “The overall objective of the party is to defeat NDA and secure a complete majority for Grand Alliance.”

“As an alliance partner, we are claiming 25 seats to fight the election. But the allocation of seats are not important for us. We are flexible with about 25 seats. The main objective is to defeat NDA at any cost and form the government under the leadership of RJD,” Sahni said.

In 2019 Lok Sabha election, the ‘Mahagathbandhan’ had allocated 3 seats to VIP which it lost.

“We have started fresh campaign called ‘District Committee Heading Towards Village’ from September 10. The idea is to reach at every door step of all 38 districts of state despite the challenge of corona,” Sahni said.

“As we will not organise massive rallies amid the pandemic, our party members will reach every individual voter through this campaign. They will point out our blueprints for development projects as well as failure of current NDA government,” Sahni added.

The parliamentary board of LJP has demanded to contest on 143 seats in Bihar, creating an uneasy situation for other alliance partners of NDA.
