In case you're not aware, iPhone 6s has a recyclable aluminium enclosure and is also tested to operate at up to 10,000 feet or 3000 meters altitude.

You may have seen several Apple iPhone drop tests on YouTube wherein the handset, when dropped from 6 feet or 10 feet, gets cracks on the screen and the back along with some scuffing on the sides. However, one of the users did an ultimate iPhone drop test recently by dropping it from 2,000 feet. We are not talking about the latest iPhone 12, but the rather old iPhone 6s.

According to a report by G1 (via 9to5 Mac) Galiotto was flying over a beach located in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. And while he was holding his iPhone 6s to capture images and videos through a small window of the plane, a gust of wind tore it away from his hand and the iPhone dropped from 2,000 feet, recording everything in between.

Although the footage is hazy and nothing can be made out in the recording, what was interesting was to see that the iPhone did actually survive. Once Galiotto reached the ground, he decided to use the Find My app to search for the missing iPhone. Watch the video here.

And he was in fact able to locate it in the middle of the beach. When he reached the location, he saw that the iPhone was dropped with screen facing the ground. However, neither the back panel nor the screen was shattered and the five-year-old iPhone did work fine.

This is not the first time we are hearing such iPhone stories. Previous reports have shown iPhones survive drowning in rivers and working just fine after days and months of staying under water. In one of the cases, an iPhone saved a user from a bullet as well.
