Oman exempts families with children under 16 from institutional quarantine
Families with children under 16 years can request exemption from institutional quarantine, according to the Ministry of Social Development’s Relief and Shelter Sector.
Hamoud bin Mohammed al Mundhiri, spokesman of the Sector, informed Muscat Daily that families may be exempted if the children have no one, like grandparents, to take care of them.
Following a flurry of social media activity, the Sector clarified that children under 16 are only exempted from institutional quarantine if certain conditions are met.
Additionally, diplomats working at foreign diplomatic missions accredited to the Sultanate, diplomats visiting the Sultanate and their families, airline crew, subject to the precautionary measures issued by the Ministry of Health, have been exempted from presenting pre-confirmed hotel reservations before they check-in at the airport of departure.
“However, all other requirements as stipulated in previous circulars remain valid’’, the Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) informed.
