Asian Games Medal Tally: India firm on 4th spot with 60 medals including 13 gold, 24 silver, 23 bronze

The Indian athletes continued to shine in track and field events on Monday.

India consolidated its position in the top four on the Asian Games 2022 medal tally with 13 gold, 24 silver and 23 bronze in Hangzhou, China.

A day after clinching 15 medals at the Games, India had another bronze as the women’s speed skating team of Sanjana Bathula, Karthika Jagadeeswaran, Heeral Sadhu and Aarathy Kasturi Raj finished third in the 3000m relay race. The team of Aryanpal Ghuman, Anand Velkumar, Siddhant Kamble and Vikram Ingale, also clinched a bronze medal in the 3000m men’s roller skating relay event.

Later in the day, the Mukherjee duo – Sutirtha and Ayhika – lost a seven-game thriller in the women’s doubles semifinal to Cha Suyong and Pak Sugyong of North Korea, settling for a bronze.

The Indian athletes continued to shine in track and field events on Monday. Parul Chaudhary and Priti Lamba won silver and bronze medals, respectively, in the women’s 300m Steeplechase. Long jumper Ancy Sojan recorded her personal best to finish silver in the women’s event.

The Indian team in the 4x400m mixed relay event had their bronze upgraded to silver after Sri Lanka were disqualified due to lane infringement.
