Woman says she couldn't find sanitary pads in PVR. Her Twitter thread has sparked a discussion

A woman said that she couldn't find sanitary pads in PVR Cinemas when her friend got her period in the middle of a movie.

A woman took to Twitter to share a long thread about the absence of period facilities at public places and it has sparked a discussion online. The woman with the handle @krispycrab talked about how her friend got her period in the middle of a movie at PVR. However, she couldn't find any sanitary products at the cinema.

In the thread, @krispycrab also called out the "underdeveloped" public spaces in terms of period health and accessibility. "It just strikes me how underdeveloped we are in terms of period health and accessibility. How is it that public spaces have not yet adapted and considered setting up stations that hold sanitary products?" she wrote.

She also remarked how the period health services need not be free but at least accessible. "It doesn’t really have to be an unpaid thing that’s a different conversation for some other time, but the fact that it wasn’t even considered made me think about how neglected period health and accessibility is and how it needs to be addressed," the woman wrote further.

The woman also claimed that the janitors and other staff members of the washroom at PVR couldn't help them out. "Anyway, we asked around in the washroom, staff members, and janitors if they could help us out, but no luck. I think it’s high time that this change needs to be spoken of as well as implemented."

@Krispycrab also tagged PVR cinemas and requested them to take the same into consideration. She also tagged the Ministry of Health and health minister Mansukh Mandaviya and requested them to implement such basic changes.

The woman's post obviously garnered a lot of attention and a ton of reactions from Twitter users. While some people agreed with her, others just gave their own opinions.
