Xiaomi has now confirmed the Redmi 12C will also make its debut at the same event as the Redmi Note 12 4G in India on March 30. This will be a C-series product, as the name implies, and the pricing will be affordable. The Redmi 12C, which will debut as a successor to the Redmi 10 India variant (Redmi 10C in China), should offer some technical upgrades. To recall, Redmi 12C debuted in China earlier this year.

On March 30, the Redmi 12C will go official in India along with the Redmi Note 12 4G variant. The phone will be offered as part of the Xiaomi Fan Festival Days.

The Redmi 12C will sport a noticeable bezel below the screen and a waterdrop notch on the front for the selfie camera. On the right edge are the power and volume rocker controls. On the rear, there is a large camera island with two sensors, an LED flash, and a third cutout with the word "AI" inscribed on it. The same module houses a physical fingerprint sensor as well. For enhanced hand grip, the rear panel features a pattern finish. The Redmi 12C will come in four colour options: Blue, Black, Green, and Purple.

The Redmi 12C has been confirmed to sport a 6.71-inch display that could offer an HD+ resolution. The screen is expected to have a 20:9 aspect ratio and a typical 60Hz refresh rate. As per the company, this will be the largest display on a phone released in 2023 and priced in the sub-Rs 10,000 range.

The handset will be powered by the MediaTek Helio G85 SoC, which is said to make it the fastest in its segment. The chipset could pack up to 6GB of RAM and support up to 5GB of extendable RAM. On the back, there will be a 50MP dual camera unit. The phone will also house a 5,000mAh battery.
