Rashtiya Ekda Diwas : The power of unity in diversity

Rashtriya Ekta Diwas aims at trying to link the citizens of the country and build in them a pride for the differences and a resulting appreciation.

We very often hear of Unity in Diversity. While in school we would have speeches that included this phrase every now and then.

Every Indian should now forget that he is a Rajput, a Sikh or a Jat. He must remember that he is an Indian and he has every right in his country but with certain duties

But do we know or actually appreciate the nuances of this term. India is diverse in every aspect - religion, culture, language, customs, traditions, way of dressing - and because of this it is so important that we remain united inspite of all the diverseness across the length and the breadth of the country.

My only desire is that India should be a god producer and no one should be hungry, shedding tears for food in the country

Non-violence has to be observed in thought, word and deed. The measure of our non-violence will be the measure of our success.
