UAE-UK travel ban; visas extended for UK travellers

Any British or Irish citizens and third-country nationals with residence rights returning from the Gulf state will be required to isolate at home, or in a hotel for 10 days.

The UAE will extend the visit visas of British travellers affected by the UK’s decision to impose a ban on travel to and from the UAE.

The visas will be extended for free, said the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation.

The ministry said the UAE will continue to maintain its role as an “important hub for travel and logistics, according to the highest standards of health and safety”.

Britain on Tuesday announced an outright travel ban on non-citizens arriving from the UAE and severe quarantine measures for citizens coming in from there to stem coronavirus cases, hitting Dubai holidaymakers and expatriates.
