Unvaccinated UAE workers must undergo COVID-19 PCR tests weekly

Only those who have been already vaccinated will not be required to conduct the PCR test

As part of the efforts made to curb the spread of the coronavirus, workers and employees of specific establishments in the emirate of Ajman will have to conduct a regular weekly PCR COVID-19 test, except for those who received two doses of the COVID-19 vaccine, with a commitment to download the Al Hosn application.

This was announced by the Crisis, Disaster and Emergency Management Team in Ajman. The decision has taken effect starting from Tuesday.

According to the decision, workers in restaurants, cafes, supermarkets, gyms, men's and women's salons, labour recruitment offices, food and meal delivery companies, and car laundries will have to conduct PCR COVID-19 test on weekly basis starting from March 2, 2021.

Only those who have been already vaccinated will not be required to conduct the PCR test, but all will have to download and install Al Hosn application, the decision explained.

The inspection and control teams will carry out inspection visits to the mentioned establishments and companies 3 days after the issuance of the decision to oblige them conduct the screening timely.

The Team calls on owners of those establishments to oblige their employees and workers to conduct a weekly COVID-19 PCR test and download Al Hosn application, in order to avoid actions involved in the event of violation.

Ajman has decided to shut down cafes and restaurants to curb the spread of coronavirus in the emirate.

The Ajman Crisis, Disaster and Emergency Management said, “Within the framework of the efforts exerted to combat the spread of the coronavirus, authorities in the Emirate of Ajman issued a decision to amend the working hours of cafes and restaurants in the emirate, so that the closure will be at 11pm, starting from Tuesday, February 23.”
