Over 62% of the UAE population vaccinated against COVID-19

Official urged everyone to co-operate and adhere to the procedures and instructions to stay safe.

The UAE has so far has provided more than 8 and a half million doses of vaccines of COVID-19. This was revealed during the weekly briefing on the coronavirus situation in the UAE on Tuesday.

The UAE Health Ministry said, “62.57% of the target group in UAE has been vaccinated, which is an achievement that adds to the UAE’s record as part of its continuous endeavour to provide the vaccine to members of society.

“With the passage of more than a year since the start of the COVID-19 pandemic, the UAE continues to apply its professional methodology in dealing with and containing this pandemic,” official said during the briefing.

“The country’s professional approach highlights the Emirati model in managing the crisis, which balanced health and the economy, with constant emphasis on health being the first priority.”

As Holy Month of Ramadan will come to us for the second year in a row under exceptional circumstances imposed on us by this pandemic that is sweeping the world, and within the framework of social responsibility, we want to emphasise all measures and guidelines that aim to maintain safety and public health.

The authorities said, “Family and institutional Iftar tents are banned. Ramadan commercial tents, which provide food, beverages and shisha found usually in hotels, restaurants and various tourist destinations are also banned.”

Authorities also warned that intensive inspection campaigns will be carried out during the Holy Month, and legal measures will be taken against violators, which may end up in the closure of establishments.

Over a year since the start of COVID-19, the UAE continues to implement its professional approach in handling and containing the spread, highlighting the UAE model for crisis management which balanced between health and economy, while keeping health as the priority.
