Mohammed meets COVID-19 disaster teams, reviews preparations for Expo 2020
His Highness Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President, Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, met members of the committees and teams concerned with combating the coronavirus, led by the Supreme Committee for Crisis and Disaster Management in Dubai, the Mohammed Bin Rashid University of Medicine and Health Sciences, and representatives of various field teams.
Sheikh Maktoum and Mansour Bin Mohammed accompanied Sheikh Mohammed.
The specialized work teams representing various vital sectors in Dubai briefed Sheikh Mohammed.
The teams explained the latest developments in preparations to receive "Expo 2020 Dubai," where he was reassured the high preparedness of all local agencies, with cooperation and coordination with the concerned federal authorities to hold the global event.
Sheikh Mohammed said, “Our country has presented the world with a unique model in dealing wisely and efficiently with difficult challenges to avoid the worst and discover opportunities... The Emirati experience in combating the COVID-19 pandemic is the fruit of teamwork and exemplary cooperation that brought together the various work teams at the state level.”
Mohammed also said, “Hosting a global event the size of an Expo is a great responsibility that I trust in the ability of all work teams to fulfill it optimally... We have all the technical capabilities, human energies and field measures necessary to secure the best atmosphere for our guests from all over the world.
“We succeeded in providing a safe atmosphere that encouraged the world to resume its activities by organizing and hosting exhibitions and conferences, in which Dubai attracted tens of thousands of participants... We have great confidence in the ability of our national cadres to develop ideas that accelerate the transition to a new stage of giving, creativity and prosperity.”
