65-year-old Emirati swept away in Fujairah flash floods

He tried to leave flooded area but he was swept away by the strong water currents of the valley

The Fujairah police found the body of a 65-year-old Emirati SR Al Seraidi from Wadi Al Sidr after it was washed away by the waters of the valley while Al Seraidi was trying to cross it, according to Major General Mohammad Bin Ghanim Al Kaabi, Commander-in-Chief of the Fujairah Police.

Al Kaabi explained that the Fujairah police recovered the body in the Al-Halla area and that Al Seraidi was on his farm when rain lashed the area.

"He tried to leave flooded area but he was swept away by the strong water currents of the valley," Al Kaabi said.

"His body finally settled in the Al Halla area in Fujairah," Al Kaabi added.

Al Kaabi appealed to the public to take precautions during the rains, and to adhere to the warnings issued by the Ministry of Interior and the security authorities about staying away from valleys, dangerous and rugged mountainous areas during rain.
