Dubai receives ‘We Love the UAE’ greeting cards from over 100 countries, creates world record

A huge mural was erected in the middle of the city of the Dubai Festival showing images of people from around the world in folk costumes

Dubai, once again, has entered the Guinness World Records in style by collecting the largest number of greeting cards from around the world under the slogan, ‘Different Languages, One Message: We Love the UAE, on the occasion of the Golden Jubilee of the UAE.

Dubai’s Roads and Transport Authority (RTA), in collaboration with Aramex, teamed up to develop an innovative way to celebrate the Golden Jubilee of the United Arab Emirates into a global celebration in which people from more than 100 countries sent greeting cards to the UAE. Additionally, the local public celebrated the event by writing over 5,000 greeting cards that were entered in the Guinness Book of World Records.

Eng. Maitha Bin Adai, CEO of Traffic and Roads Agency, RTA, expressed her happiness in taking part in celebrations of the UAE’s Golden Jubilee. “The event deserves to be celebrated and supported by all departments and entities in the public and private sectors.

“This demonstrates the distinct position the UAE enjoys among the peoples and countries of the world, ”she noted.

"The initiative adds to the UAE's Guinness World Records tally in terms of innovative community and collective events carried out with private sector partners.

The Dubai-based Aramex has a continuous relationship with RTA in achieving the common goals such as Safety and Environmental Sustainability, besides cooperating in the fields of training and awareness to enhance the traffic safety in Dubai,” added Bin Adai.

Ahmed Marie, General Manager of Aramex in the UAE, expressed his pride in the fact that Aramex and its global network played an important role in the success of this initiative and in adding a Guinness World Record to Dubai's impressive record of success.

"This achievement will strengthen the UAE's image and pioneering role in the world as the country celebrates its Golden Jubilee. Aramex is keen on further strengthening its relationships with the public sector in various meaningful community-based initiatives.

A huge mural was erected in the middle of the city of the Dubai Festival showing images of people from around the world in folk costumes from different cities carrying large greeting cards with the event slogan ‘We love the United Arab Emirates,’ accompanied by commentary in multiple languages to congratulate the United Arab Emirates on the Golden Jubilee.

The mural attracted more than 5,000 greeting cards from students, employees and clients of the Dubai Government as well as visitors to the Festival City and the event’s site.
