Booster shots, negative PCR tests mandatory to enter government offices in UAE

The UAE from Jan,3, 2022, will restrict entry into all government institutions to people vaccinated against coronavirus and those who are exempted from getting the vaccine.

The UAE Ministry of Health and Prevention (MoHAP) in coordination with the National Emergency Crisis and Disaster Management Authority (NCEMA) announced that green pass on AlHosn application would be mandatory to enter any federal government entity for employees and customers nationwide.

This will be limited to the vaccinated individuals and those who are excluded from vaccination, as of January 3, 2022.

The step comes in line with the country’s vision to strengthen the national efforts in all sectors to secure the health and safety of society during the recovery phase from the COVID-19 pandemic.

Only those who have received two doses of any approved COVID-19 vaccine in the country and the booster doses will be allowed to enter the federal government entities. Their status on Al Hosn application must appear in green. They will be also required to conduct a COVID-19 PCR test every 14 days, to ensure continuity of their green pass on the application.

The groups excluded from vaccination will also be allowed to enter those entities, if their status on AlHosn application appears in green, which requires a COVID-19 PCR test every 7 days.

“No need to any laboratory tests for children under 16 years,” the NCEMA confirmed.

The MoHAP stressed that the non-vaccinated individuals would not be allowed to enter any federal government entity, whether employees or customers, as well as those whose status on AlHosn application appears in gray due to expiry of their COVID-19 PCR test.

The Health Ministry further stressed the need to obtain the booster doses according to the approved national protocol for vaccines, to ensure raising the societal immunity in light of the spread of COVDi-19 variants, and to boost the sustainability of recovery efforts in all vital sectors.
