Dhs3,000 fine for not wearing face masks in Dubai

Dubai announced the guidelines for celebrating New Year’s Eve in the emirate.

Under the directives of Sheikh Mansoor Bin Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Chairman of the Dubai Sports Council, the authorities issued fresh guidelines.

The authorities said that preventive measures continue to be enforced as part of Dubai Government’s efforts to safeguard the health of citizens, residents and visitors.

Firework shows will take place in 29 different locations across Dubai to ensure a safe and socially-distanced environment.

The highlights:

- Wear a mask at all times, violators will be fine and maintain social distancing and follow all precautionary measures.

- Dubai Police reminds the public that failing to wear a mask can bring a fine of Dhs3,000

- Public can watch fireworks displays from 29 locations across the city in a safe, secure and socially distanced environment.

The authorities said that abiding by precautionary measures ensures your safety and protects the community from COVID-19.
