Rain, strong winds bring down temperature down, residents warned of rough seas

The Ministry of Interior, via Twitter, called on motorists to be careful while driving and to stay away from rainwater pools and rough seas.

Most UAE areas since Saturday morning have been witnessing cloudy weather accompanied by heavy rain, strong winds, which encouraged the people to go out for walks in the parks and tourist areas, as well as to go to the sandy open areas to enjoy the scenic landscape.

The Ministry of Interior, via Twitter, called on motorists to be careful while driving and to stay away from rainwater pools and rough seas.

The UAE witnessed rain, ranging in intensity between heavy, medium and sometimes light, and was accompanied by lightning, thunder and hail in some areas, especially the northern and eastern, due to the multiplication of convective clouds, to the north and east, as a result of the deepening of the upper depression over most regions of the country.

Heavy rain in some areas, especially in the emirates of Fujairah and Ras al-Khaimah, led to the floods in the valleys and the filling of dams, and the accumulation of water in the low areas in Wadi Al-Hilu and Wahleh in Fujairah, and Wadi Al-Qur and Wadi Halhal in Ras Al-Khaimah.

Al Ain City Municipality opened rainwater drains in the city's streets, and indicated to the residents through their accounts on social networking sites the need to take precaution and follow traffic rules during the period of weather fluctuations.

The National Center of Meteorology expected that the weather on Saturday, will be partly cloudy to cloudy at times, with a chance of convective clouds forming, accompanied by rainfall in separate areas, and moderate to brisk winds, sometimes strong, with clouds that raise dust and dust that lead to a low range of horizontal visibility.

According to the center’s forecasts, temperatures in the country will range between a maximum of 28 in Liwa and Ruwais, a minimum of 16 in Umm al-Quwain, a maximum humidity of 90 in Sharjah, Fujairah and Al-Ain, and a minimum of 30 in Liwa.
