Sign language interpreters lend a helping hand to people of determination at Expo 2020

A team of Sign Language interpreters is bringing smiles on the faces of the people of determination at Expo 2020 Dubai.

The team, deployed by Dubai Poliice at Expo site is helping people of determination by interpreting for them to get their needs, searching for a car, or even helping one of them to meet his favourite artist.

Recalling an incident at Expo where the team of sing language interpreters came to the rescue of people of determination, Corporal Mohammed Al Hajjaji explained how the team helped a deaf GCC national to find his car.

"The GCC national came to the Emirate of Dubai to visit Expo, so he rented a car but forgot the parking and he also forgot its late number," said Hajjaji,

The man sought help from Dubai Police at Expo.

"We formed more than a team, in coordination with the General Directorate of Traffic. After long search, we found the car," Hajjaji said.

The team also helped a lost child with autism and his 8-year-old sister reunite with their family within half an hour.

The team also helped a Down Syndrome child to find his family.

They also helped a blind and deaf Arab national by explaining everything related to Expo, using the sign language by touching his palm.

The team alos helped an Arab with disability to achieve his dream to meet an Arab singer.

The team saw him heading to the place of the Emirati singer Eida Al Menhali to meet him. It communicated with the singer’s team and achieved the dream of the young man to meet him and take pictures with him.
