UAE is first in the Arab world and 23rd globally in the number of billionaires

China remains on the top with maximum billionaires at home.

The UAE ranked first in the Arab world, and 23 globally in terms of the number of billionaires in 2022.

It is home to 19 billionaires, surpassing Denmark, Malaysia, the Netherlands, Austria and Monaco.

This is according to the latest list of billionaires issued by the Hurun Research Institute of China.

China remains on the top with maximum billionaires at home. Last year, it added 75 billionaires, bringing the total number in the country to 1,133 billionaires, followed by the United States in second place with 716 billionaires, then India in third place with 215 billionaires, the United Kingdom in fourth place with 150 billionaires, and Germany in fifth place with 145 billionaires.

Number of billionaires:

1- China: 1,133

2- United States: 716

As for cities, Beijing maintained its first position in terms of the number of billionaires residing there, with 144, Shanghai came in second place with 121 billionaires, and Shenzhen in third place with 113 billionaires.

Despite the Russian-Ukrainian war and the impact of Covid-19 on the economy, the number of billionaires in the world increased by 153 people, bringing their total number to 3,381 billionaires, and their total wealth increased by 4% to $15.2 trillion.

Elon Musk is the richest man in the world, according to the list, with a fortune of 205 billion dollars, followed by Jeff Bezos, founder of Amazon, with 188 billion dollars, and Bernard Arnault, CEO of the "LVMH" group of commodities in third place, with a fortune estimated at 153 billion dollars. Bill Gates, co-founder of Microsoft, in fourth place, with 124 billion dollars, and Warren Buffett, CEO of Berkshire Hathaway, in fifth place, with a fortune of 119 billion dollars.
