Abdullah Sultan Bin Khadim, Executive Director of the Sharjah Charity Society has set up helpline number to assist people affected by rain and floods in Eastern region.

Khadim said the initiative was launched in cooperation with the competent authorities represented by the General Command of Sharjah Police, Civil Defence, the National Authority for Crisis, Emergency and Disaster Management, the Department of Social Services, and the Emergency Housing Department to support Sharjah Charity’s humanitarian role.

Urgent assistance was provided to many families, and this aid consisted of distributing meals, and working on case studies to determine the type and size of other assistance that is required for each family, as the support provided by the association included several shelter areas in the suburbs of Suhaila and Kalba, in addition to the shelter sites in three schools in the region, as well as the support extended to the neighbouring emirates that were affected by rainwater.
