47,300 low-income families receive fuel, food, and electricity allowances in UAE

The ministry affirmed that the number of beneficiaries of the allowances amounted to 47,300 families at the UAE level.

The UAE Ministry of Community Development announced the latest updates of the disbursement of inflation allowances for low-income people at the UAE level, which includes three types of allowances: Fuel allowance, Food subsidy allowance, and Electricity and Water allowance.

The ministry affirmed that the number of beneficiaries of the allowances amounted to 47,300 families at the UAE level.

Since mid-July 2022, the Ministry has approving the disbursement of fuel allowance for limited income people, while it started disbursing the food subsidy allowance as of August 5, followed by the electricity and water allowance.

The ministry said that the value of the monthly fuel allowance is linked to the social status of each family, which is variable according to the current price of fuel. It can be obtained using the Emirates ID card at any of ADNOC Distribution stations across the UAE, throughout the month.

The food subsidy allowance is also disbursed according to the inflation rates of basic foodstuffs, and it is linked to the change in inflation rates in the prices of basic foodstuffs. It is also disbursed according to the social status of each family.

The ministry affirmed that those entitled to the inflation allowances registered in the fuel allowance were automatically registered in the food allowance and that SMS would be sent to them affirming their registration through creating an account linked to the Emirates ID, where they can benefit from the allowance throughout the month, by visiting One of Lulu Hypermarkets outlets in all emirates of the country, where the Emirates ID must be presented.

The ministry added that during the coming period, the beneficiaries of the inflation allowances will be automatically registered to receive the monthly subsidy for the consumption of electricity and water.

It clarified that it is possible to apply for social assistance and inquiries related to support through the ministry's website (www.mocd.gov.ae), and the smart app, where the registration is done with the digital identity or the Emirates ID.
