Dubai reduces taxi fares by 10%

Taxi fare decreased in line with the decrease in gasoline prices

The Dubai Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) has reduced the fare for all taxis by 10%.

Adel Shakri, Director of the Planning and Business Administration Department at the Dubai Public Transport Agency, said that the announced tariff included all types of taxis, limousines, airport taxis, and others.

He explained that the taxi fare decreased in line with the decrease in gasoline prices, and according to the new prices, the price per kilometer for taxi vehicles became 1.97 instead of 2.19, i.e. a decline of 10%.

He indicated that the new tariff for taxis was applied in December, and the authority is working to review the price of the taxi tariff every two months in line with gasoline prices.

He explained that the number of taxis in the emirate exceeds 11,000 vehicles, which vary between regular taxis, airport taxis, women's taxis, and limousines, stressing that the authority is constantly working on developing taxis to make customers happy.
