UAE shuts down Hollowmeat Restaurant over food safety violations in Al Ain

The Abu Dhabi Agriculture and Food Safety Authority (ADAFSA) issued a decision administratively shutting down the Hollowmeat Restaurant in Al Ain, which holds trade licence no. CN-2756683, for violating law no. 2 for 2008 regarding food in the Emirate of Abu Dhabi and the regulations issued thereunder and posing a danger to public health.

The food control report stated that the administrative closure decision followed the restaurant’s repeated highly dangerous violations and its failure to meet the health and food safety requirements, the ADAFSA added, noting that insects were detected on the meat and vegetable washing sink and in the clean utensil storage area.

Despite the successive inspections, the restaurant did not respond to the inspectors’ observations related to food health and safety requirements and although the inspectors issued three fines against it, the restaurant did not correct its conditions and fulfill the observations against it.

The administrative closure order would remain in effect until the restaurant fulfilled all the requirements for healthy and safe food, the ADAFSA said.

The ADAFSA called on the public to communicate with it and report any food violations by calling the Government of Abu Dhabi’s toll free number 800555, enabling its inspectors to take the necessary measures for the ultimate aim of providing safe food to all Abu Dhabi inhabitants.
