Now you can extend UAE visit visas for friends and relatives by 30 days for Dhs750
Holders of a relative or friend visit visa for 30, 60 or 90 days (one trip or several trips) are entitled to extend it for a period of 30 days only for Dhs750, through smart channels on the smart app “UAEICP,” according to the Federal Authority for Identity, Citizenship, Customs and Ports Security (ICP).
The ICP clarified that the documents required to obtain the service include the original entry permit and a coloured personal photo, which meets the approved standards. It added that the applicant for renewal is required to be inside the UAE, and must have a passport with a validity of at least 6 months.
The fees include, according to the ICP, Dhs500 as issuance fees, Dhs100 as application fees, and Dhs100 as smart services fees, in addition to Dhs50 for insurance and the ICP fees.
The ICP clarified that the application is rejected electronically after 30 days if it is returned due to a lack of data or failure to complete the required documents, and it is also entirely rejected if it is returned 3 times, for the same reasons.
In this case, only the issuance fees and financial guarantees (if any) are refunded through a credit card, within a period not more than six months from the date of submitting the application, or through procedures followed to recover the fees by cheque or bank transfer within a period not more than five years.
Residents in the UAE, ICP said, can apply for a visit visa for a relative or friend abroad through the smart application with easy steps, including accessing the ICP’s app and selecting the service of issuing a visit visa for a relative or friend according to its duration, then all the applicant’s data will appear on the screen automatically. He then has to complete the steps by filling in the visitor's identification data, attaching the required documents and finally paying the prescribed fees.
The ICP affirmed that in order to obtain a visa, the visitor must be a relative or friend of a citizen or a resident, in accordance with the provisions it specifies. It is also a must to attach proof of kinship and the reasons for the visit, fulfill the financial guarantee decided according to the purpose.
If the visa is for a foreign wife to visit a GCC husband, she must have a valid residence permit in the country of which the husband holds its nationality, ICP added.
