Despite COVID-19, thousands of dogs slaughtered for Yulin's 10-day festival
Every year during the month of June, the number of dogs in China decreases drastically due to the most cruel festival, Yulin that celebrates the hurting, burning and killing of dogs.

According to estimates, about 10,000 dogs are killed every year.
Shop owners saying using other meats like bull, oxen, hen during this festival is unthinkable as bulls and cows are useful animals that help with ploughing and agriculture.
According to the traditions of the festival, the animals are brutally beaten up, put on fire and hammered on the head before the meat is cut out to be cooked.
