Russian millionaire flies 725 kms, spends $2,670 to visit McDonald's for Big Mac & fries

Viktor Martynov, 33, flew 720 miles and spent nearly $2,680 to acquire a Big Mac and fries.

Fast-food cravings can become so intense at times that one can do desperate things to get their favourite items.

This year, people around the world have done some pretty bizarre things amid nationwide lockdowns to acquire their favourite food.

A man in Australia drove 32 kms from his home to the main city in search of Butter Chicken. Then a driver drove at 177 km/ph on a motorway in the UK amid lockdown as he was on his way to buy bread from London.

Lockdown restrictions may have been lifted in almost all countries, but hunger pangs and craze for fast-food is still making people do some unfathomable things.

Let's take a recent example of a Russian millionaire who had a desperate craving for McDonald's burgers and fries. Viktor Martynov, 33, flew 720 miles and spent nearly $2,680 to acquire a Big Mac and fries.

The 33-year-old was holidaying in the Crimea, which has sanctions that forbid Western companies like McDonald's from operating within its region. So, Martynov chartered a helicopter out of the area and flew to the nearest of Krasnodar to buy himself a McDonald's meal.

Martynov had the craving for McDonald's when he was staying at a Black sea resort, according to reports.

He flew to Martynov, picked up some Big Macs, fries, and milkshakes, and returned to his resort in a few hours.

"This is how it was - I was on holiday with my girlfriend in Alushta. We had a craving for normal Moscow food. We decided to board a helicopter, fly to Krasnodar, and go to McDonald's. We had a meal there and got back," he said.
