Drunk, maskless people chant 'COVID-19 is a hoax' outside UK hospital

A recent protest involving maskless people chanting 'COVID is a hoax' outside a famous hospital in London has left doctors disgusted.

The outbreak has led to a lot of confusion and panic in public places with people rushing to stores to stock up on supplies. In the process, social distancing rules have been flouted almost every day.

However, the biggest problem is the open defiance of lockdown and social distancing rules that has been witnessed for the past 9-10 months in several countries. Protests from anti-vaxxers and maskless people have continued unabated.

Lockdown rules were flouted by thousands of people, who refused to take the pandemic seriously. It began with virus rebels, or ‘Covidiots’ as they were dubbed, turning up to convenience stores without masks, but soon transformed into social activities like corona parties and beach hopping.

More than a year into the pandemic and the virus rebels are still flouting rules in almost every country.

“Worked the late A&E SHO shift on NYE and came out to this. Hundreds of maskless, drunk people in huge groups shouting "Covid is a hoax", literally outside the building where hundreds are sick and dying. Why do people still not realise the seriousness of this pandemic?” he wrote.

In follow-up tweets, Dr. Lee wrote he was disgusted and heartbroken that people were protesting right outside a place where people were either dying or fighting for their lives.

“I'm disgusted but mostly heartbroken. I wish people could see the amount of #COVID19 and death in hospitals, and the sacrifices that healthcare workers make. This week alone has been so tough. Their ignorance is hurting others. I really wish people would keep themselves safe,” he wrote.
