‘Simply Breathtaking’: Astronaut aboard ISS shares a 100-photo collage of the Suez Canal

The collage shows the Suez Canal with its two parallel waterways and five intersections.

A French astronaut aboard the International Space Station (ISS) shared a photo of the Suez Canal on Twitter on June 13.

But the photo is not a regular one. It is actually a 100-image collage of the Suzel Canal taken from space.

Thomas Pesquet said he created it out of 100 zoomed-in pictures of the Suez Canal that were all taken from space.

The images were merged into one before Pesquet shared it on his Twitter account. He wrote (Translated from French): "THE human construction that we can really see from space with the naked eye: the #Suez reconstituted from 100 photos."

The collage shows the Suez Canal with its two parallel waterways and five intersections.

Netizens were clearly stunned by the details and clarity of the collage.

A user quipped: "At the top we can clearly see the attempt at the most imposing fried egg in the world! (Guinness World Records Book 2014) Unbelievable."

“I don't know who is working on the editing of your photos but I am passionate about photography, they are breathtakingly precise and I know how much a job it takes that requires time and patience thank you for all these wonderful shares,” wrote another user.

“You are really lucky to observe our planet from the sky. Thank you for sharing the photos with us. On the other hand, can you take a photo of the Antilles and more particularly Martinique?” wrote a third user.
