Hundreds of viewers of a drone show were seen running in panic for cover in China's Zhengzhou following a technical glitch, which led them to fall over the audience on Oct.1.

The show was held in front of a well-known shopping mall in the city and a footage taken in the Chinese city showed the machines, lit up with bright blue lights, plummeting from the sky to the streets below.

Screams and shouts could be heard as one by one the drones began falling from the sky.

The cause of the falling drones is not yet known, but one of the organisers of the event indicated that there was an operational defect that resulted in the drones falling one after the other.

No injuries, however, were recorded among the audience.

Some of the drones fell hard on the ground and others hit the trees while others began to descend slowly, seemingly still under control from their operators.
