An American woman named Jennifer has been eating mattresses for about two decades.

People with bizarre hobbies and addictions leave you absolutely shocked. One woman from the US revealed that she struggled with an addiction that involved mattresses. Well, the woman is addicted to eating mattresses.

The story of the strange addiction came to light after the woman named Jennifer appeared on TLC’s "My Strange Addiction". In the show, Jennifer claimed that she had been eating mattresses for about two decades. According to her, the habit began when she was just 5 years old.

The young girl at the time started consuming sponges from the family's car at the time. Unfortunately, moving forward, the habit only became worse. Today, she is capable of eating a square foot of mattress every day. Jennifer revealed that she once eat her mother's mattress after she had finished consuming hers.

“I start out with the good stuff. The good stuff to me is the pillowtop itself. I like my mattress plain and straight up, with no mayonnaise, butter, or none of that,” said the woman to LADBible.

She also stated that she would stop eating a mattress if it emitted a foul smell or the sponge was all gone.

Luckily, Jennifer's addiction has not caused her any life-threatening health issues. “The side effects of eating mattresses, gas is really the only one you’d have. It enters my body and leaves my body, it enters my system and goes out," said the woman to HuffPost.

Meanwhile, doctors warned her that her fate might take an unfortunate turn if she did not restrict herself from eating mattresses. They told her that she is at risk of developing liver damage and intestinal blockage in the future.
