The internet has become an indispensable part of our lives. But even some decades ago, the scene was completely different. People were dependant on modes of communication like letters and landlines as the concept of a smartphone was yet to be invented. A video of Tesla chief Elon Musk talking about how the internet will take over the world from that time has now gone viral.

Shared on Twitter by Tesla Owners Silicon Valley, the video is a snippet of an interview Musk gave to CBS Sunday Morning. In the clip he explains how the internet is going to merge all modes of communications. “One will see print, broadcast, arguably, radio, essentially all media folding into the internet,” he said in the video.

“What the internet amounts to is that it’s the first two-way communication that is intelligent. It allows consumers to choose what they want to see. I think it’s gonna revolutionize all traditional media,” he added.

The post has garnered over 989k views and tons of reactions. Musk himself commented on the post as he was surprised about the old interview going viral again.

People pointed out how true Musk’s words were at that time. Many wrote that the Tesla CEO was indeed a visionary.
