'Mom, I graduated': 78-year-old man meets his 98-year-old mother after earning a college degree
Graduation day is a special day not just for the graduate but also the parents, grandparents, and other family members.
While the special day usually comes around in the late teens or early twenties for most students, there are manycases in which the wait can be a bit longer.
And as learning never ends, the joy of graduation remains the same irrespective of someone's age or the era he or she lives in.
That's the reason why the internet has fallen in love with a clip that shows a 78-year-old man meeting his 98-year-old mother after earning his college degree.
The septuagenarian proved the old adage that age is just a number by earning a degree in Financial Management, for which he was enrolled two years ago.
And after he got the degree in his hands during the graduation ceremony, he went straight to his mum and gave her the good news.
The clip shared online by 'Goodnewscorrespondent' shows the man reaching his mother's residence with some relatives and friends. As soon as he enters the room in his black graduation robe and hat, he hugs his mom.
The heartwarming clip ends with a shot of him collecting his degree in a theatre full of classmates, and teachers.
"He showed up wearing his graduation gown and brought his college degree with him because his elderly mother was not able to attend the ceremony," the post was captioned.
The post adds that the man started his undergraduate course in Financial Management in the midst of the Covid pandemic.
"After two years the big moment arrived; He received the diploma straight from his son's hands, in a theater full of colleagues, teachers and family members," it adds.
