YouTuber discovers remains of plane that crashed at Area 51 nearly 70 years ago
Area 51 has been a topic of interest among science buffs and alien enthusiasts around the world for decades because it has always been shrouded in secrecy.
It's a place that has always been full of mystery and conspiracy theories that have inspired TV shows, films and several books over the years.
In simple terms, Area 51 is one of the most controversial and mysterious places on Earth that common people can only speculate about. It is also a strange place because it has, for decades, been connected to stories about flying saucers, and extraterrestrial creatures.
Located in the middle of Nevada, it is the common name of a of a highly classified United States Air Force (USAF) facility within the Nevada Test and Training Range. The high security around the base has made Area 51 the frequent subject of conspiracy theories and a central component of unidentified flying object (UFO) folklore. However, it has never officially been declared as a secret base.
Not so long, a YouTuber added an extra layer of mystery to the classified area by discovering something curious.
Mark Vins, in a video uploaded on the channel Brave Wilderness in 2020, spoke about the discovery of a plane that apparently crash landed near Area 51 nearly 70 years ago.
The clip now has over 1.4 million views and a flurry of reactions from viewers.
Vins said in his explanation said that the plane was leaving from Burbank in California to Area 51 when it got stuck in bad weather.
"The flight was leaving from Burbank, California on its way to Area 51. It got stuck in some bad weather and because of the secrecy of this mission, it was actually flying underneath the radar. And unfortunately missed clearing the peak of Mount Charleston by 50 feet," he explains.
It is believed to have crashed into Mount Charleston in Nevada on November 17, 1955 at 8:19am, killing fourteen men on board.
While nothing was fully confirmed by the US government, the YouTuber said one of the propellers of the plane serves as a memorial to the men who lost their lives.
In the video, Vins shows what he believes is the main bulk of the wreckage of the plane. He said that pieces were scattered all along a slope.
"Fourteen lives were lost in the crash and because of the secrecy of the mission, their families weren't notified until four decades later. I can only imagine what they went through. Not only losing their loved ones, but knowing how and not knowing why," Vins says in the clip.
After the clip went viral, many YouTubers lauded Vins for carrying out a thorough investigation of the site.
Stories about Area 51 have created a unique subculture for people who are dedicated to know what the facility holds. Dedicated believers and UFO buffs have often come up with outlandish theories about the places.
However, there are only a few facts that people around the world know about Area 51.
