Elderly man used to order the same breakfast platter for years. Here’s what the Irish cafe did

There are many things that make the internet a great place. One of them is people making thoughtful gestures to others. Just like this cafe in Ireland that named a food item after one of their regular customers.

Shared on Instagram, the post was shared by the cafe named Grangecon Kitchen. It shows how an elderly man named John got a sweet surprise from the staff when he walked into the eatery one fine morning to find out that they had named a dish after him.

The video starts with John walking to the cafe and ordering his usual breakfast. The platters consisted of two sunny side ups, grilled veggies and meat. The cafe named the dish John’s Breakfast and it was included in the menu. Even the receipt shows the same name when a customer orders it. Isn’t that wonderful?

“Almost every day John (our best customer!) visits us for breakfast and orders his fry up. So after years of dockets going into the chef for ‘John’s breakfast’ we decided to just put it on the menu for everyone to order John’s Breakfast! Here’s a clip of when he sees it on the menu for the first time today!” read the caption.
