Viral video shows worker peeing in raw material warehouse of Chinese beer maker Tsingtao, shares fall

After a video of Chinese beer maker, Tsingtao went viral on the internet, the company was quick to launch a probe in the matter

A worker of China's brewer Tsingtao was caught on camera while urinating into a container of beer ingredients at the factory. The video of the incident went viral on the internet and received sharp criticism. Taking cognisance of the matter, the company launched a probe on the viral video and issued a clarification.

Soon after the video started doing rounds on the internet, the Shanghai-listed company witnessed its shares fall as much as 7.5 per cent in early trade on Monday.

Despite making some recovery, the company shares closed 3.34% lower at Hong Kong Stock Exchange on Tuesday.

The viral video clip has received as many as tens of millions of views on social media. In response to the viral video, the company said that it alerted police immediately about the matter after the video came to its attention. Notably, Tsingtao is known to be one of China's top beer producers and its biggest exporter.

The viral video, which appeared on Thursday, a worker, dressed in uniform along with a helmet on, can be seen climbing over a high wall and into the container. Later, he can be seen urinating inside the container.
